Mauveine was the very first synthetic organic chemical dye that is credited for launching the synthetic dye industry. Very fashionable in the Victorian era it was a colour sported by Queen Victoria on a silk gown worn at the 1862 Royal Exhibition. This shade is matched with Violet

  • This is rustic reclaimed wood and not brand new wood
  • All boards have been carefully stripped from quality pallets by machine
  • The nail heads on these planks were sunk in, so many of the planks still have the nail head in them and have had the sharp point sawn off smooth
  • Some boards may have had the nails removed. While all pallets are handpicked and quality checked, the odd nail may have been missed
  • Some of the corners of the boards have been cut, the boards we send may contain some of these at random
  • Please take care upon receiving your order, whilst we try to ensure all splinters are removed some may have been accidentally missed
  • All boards are sanded through an industrial brush sander to the best of our ability, however due to different textures and wood grains, it is not always possible to achieve a completely smooth finish every time and therefore may need touching up if required
